AlbumDirect was the e-commerce site for the ground-breaking Madison Project Trial, which tested the digital delivery of music to a broadband market. The trial was conducted in 1999 by BMG Entertainment, EMI Music Inc., Sony Music Entertainment Inc., Universal Music Group, Inc., and Warner Music Group Inc., in conjunction with IBM and Time Warner Cable-San Diego.
Fahrenheit Studio was retained to create the roll-out kit, interactive guide, and identity system for the trial. The challenge was to present this new technology in a friendly, accessible manner. Our solution was to develop brilliantly colored, easy-to-use materials that emphasize the enjoyment of the music-buying experience.
Our responsiveness and efficiency in creating the materials led to our enlistment as producer to oversee the launch of the AlbumDirect e-commerce site for the project management team. We helped streamline the production, reporting and testing process, and worked closely with the development team to guarantee a successful launch.
